Humans are builders and power users of tools. The form factor of our flesh vessel has not changed in millenia, and yet the tools we use to manipulate the external world remain ever evolving.
Wondrous, is it not?
However, perhaps one of the greatest human tools of all, is the internet.
The internet is the emergent collective "place" that a human with a computer can access, and every other human with a computer likewise. The aggregated commons, if you will.
The internet is responsible for catalycizing the information age. Information became no longer bottlenecked by geograpghic location. This, in many ways, is a beauty of its own.
But today it gets a bad rep.
By its very most simplest definition, the internet is what we make of it. And power hungry forces have strived to strip the internet of its liberty of use into a commoditized mass of psychological warfare. These entities, with trillions of dollars behind them, can use the internet to access you and the average human.
And so in only the span of a few decades, the internet has cancerized. There are many cultural and social reasons why one cannot simply disconnect from the internet, because the internet is where most things happen now.
But again, the internet is simply what we make of it. So, did we choose this? Do we want this?
If the answer is no, then there's no time to lose.
